2021 Kia K5 Priced From $24,455 In The U.S., $100 Higher Than 2020 Optima

Shortly after the 2021 Kia K5 was presented for the U.S. market, pricing details for the Optima’s replacement have been announced.

An official order guide for the new K5 reveals that prices will start at $24,455 after a destination fee of $965, making the car just $100 more expensive than the outgoing Optima. Considering all the new tech of the K5 and its vastly more appealing design, we think that makes it a bit of a bargain.

The cheapest Kia K5 of the range is the LX model which is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 180 hp. It comes standard with 16-inch aluminum wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and lots of useful safety systems.

Those looking for some added grunt can look to the 2021 Kia K5 GT that starts at $31,455 and is fitted with a different engine, namely a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-pot with 290 hp and 311 lb-ft (421 Nm) of torque. That’s a respectable amount of power for a vehicle at this price point and makes the K5 roughly $1,000 less expensive than the Honda Accord 2.0T Sport and a touch less than the Toyota Camry TRD V6, Cars Direct notes.

Buyers of the flagship K5 GT model can opt for the GT1 Package for $4,000 that brings with it a more advanced suite of driver assistance systems, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, ventilated front seats, LED headlights, memory seats, and more.

Other variants on offer are the K5 LXS, GT-Line, and EX, all of which use the entry-level 1.6-liter. These models will land in summer while the GT will follow later in the fall.

Jannarelly Floats The Idea Of An Electric Design-X1 Roadster

With 2017 now drawn to a close, automakers around the world, big and small, are looking towards the new year ahead. That includes Jannarelly, which is floating the idea of an electric version of its Design-1 roadster. The Jannarelly Design-1 is the work of the same Anthony Jannarelly who designed the Lykan Hypersport and Fenyr Supersport for W Motors (among other projects ).
